The Selangor government has extended its RM30 public transport subsidy to include KTM Komuter commuters, widening access to the financial assistance scheme across multiple modes of transport.
State executive councillor Ng Sze Han announced the expansion, noting that the subsidy initiative previously provided support exclusively to users of Rapid KL On-Demand and Kumpool public transport services. The move aims to offer greater relief to commuters relying on different transport operators within the state.
The subsidy programme represents the state's efforts to ease the financial burden on residents amid rising transportation costs. By incorporating KTM Komuter into the scheme, the government seeks to provide equitable support across a broader spectrum of commuters who depend on the railway network for daily travel.
The expansion reflects growing recognition of the diverse commuting patterns among Selangor residents and the importance of subsidising multiple transport operators to ensure comprehensive coverage across the state's transport infrastructure.
