Selangor MB challenges claims of pig farming at Sungai Bukit Lagong

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari has challenged claims of pig farming along Sungai Bukit Lagong, stating that aerial surveys conducted along the waterway have identified only cattle farms operating in the vicinity.

Responding to concerns raised by netizens about alleged pig farming activities, Amirudin called for proof of the assertions while noting the findings from drone inspections carried out in the area.

The MB's statement comes amid growing public interest in agricultural activities within the state and their potential environmental impact on local water sources. Sungai Bukit Lagong, which flows through populated areas, has previously been subject to scrutiny regarding water quality and pollution concerns.

Authorities in Selangor have emphasised the importance of verifiable evidence when investigating claims of illegal farming operations, particularly those involving restricted livestock activities. The state government has reiterated its commitment to monitoring agricultural practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations along major water bodies.

Residents and environmental advocates are encouraged to provide documented evidence of any suspected violations to relevant state authorities for proper investigation and action.
