Sembcorp Green Infrastructure Limited has filed a Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) with market regulators for a ₹3,750 crore initial public offering, joining a wave of renewable energy firms tapping public markets. The fresh-issue IPO will see the company raise capital through equity issuance rather than secondary share sales.
The renewable power producer intends to deploy the majority of IPO proceeds toward reducing its debt burden, according to the regulatory filing. This deleveraging move comes as the company seeks to strengthen its balance sheet while pursuing growth in its renewable energy portfolio.
Sembcorp Green Infra plans to expand its offerings in renewable thermal certificate (RTC), frequency-dependent renewable energy (FDRE), and energy storage-linked renewable power segments. These diversified revenue streams reflect the company's strategy to capitalize on India's push toward clean energy infrastructure and grid stability.
The IPO filing underscores investor interest in established renewable energy operators with operational assets and revenue visibility. The capital raise aligns with India's renewable energy expansion targets and the broader shift among infrastructure developers toward public equity markets for financing growth.
