MANILA — The Senate Electoral Tribunal ruled Friday to dismiss a revised quo warranto petition challenging Senator Erwin Tulfo's right to hold his legislative seat.

Berteni Causing filed the amended case against Tulfo, citing alleged disloyalty to the Philippines and questions regarding his allegiance. A quo warranto petition is a legal challenge to an individual's qualification or authority to occupy a public office.

This marks the second rejection of a disqualification case against the senator. The tribunal's dismissal signals the continuation of Tulfo's tenure in the upper chamber of Congress, pending any further legal challenges.

The senator has previously faced similar legal attempts to unseat him, which have also been unsuccessful before the electoral tribunal. Tulfo's office has not yet issued a statement regarding the latest ruling.
