MANILA — Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa has surrendered only a fraction of his registered firearms following the revocation of his gun licenses, the Philippine National Police-Civil Security Group reported on Monday.

According to the PNP-CSG, dela Rosa has turned in 26 of the 117 firearms that were registered under his name, leaving 91 weapons yet to be recovered. The bureau did not specify a timeline for when the remaining firearms should be surrendered.

"We are continuing our coordination" with dela Rosa's office to obtain the outstanding weapons, a PNP-CSG spokesperson said, without providing additional details on the recovery efforts.

The development comes after the revocation of dela Rosa's gun licenses and firearm registrations. The former Philippine National Police chief, who now serves as a senator, has held multiple firearms throughout his law enforcement career spanning several decades.

Authorities have not disclosed what prompted the license revocations or set a deadline for the surrender of the remaining 91 firearms.
