Senator Ejercito inspects major Metro Manila railway projects

MANILA — Senator JV Ejercito conducted an inspection of two critical rail transport projects serving Metro Manila on Thursday, visiting the North-South Commuter Railway Valenzuela Depot and the Metro Manila Subway System construction site.
The senator was accompanied by Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez, representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and officials from the Embassy of Japan, as well as representatives from the project contractors executing the work.
The visit underscores the government's focus on expanding the region's mass transit capacity. Both projects are among the Philippines' most significant infrastructure undertakings, aimed at addressing congestion and improving mobility across the capital region.
Japan has been a key partner in financing and technical support for major Philippine infrastructure initiatives. The presence of JICA and embassy officials during the inspection highlights the bilateral cooperation driving these transportation developments forward.
