Senior police officer assumes command of Northern Mindanao regional office

Police Brig. Gen. Nestor Cruzata Babagay Jr. has taken over leadership of the Philippine National Police's Regional Office-10 in Cagayan de Oro City. The command transition was formalized during Thursday ceremonies at a military installation in the city.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police Brig. Gen. Nestor Cruzata Babagay Jr. formally assumed the top leadership position of the Police Regional Office-10 (PRO-10) during turnover ceremonies held Thursday, August 27, at Camp 1Lt. Vicente G. Alagar in Barangay Lapasan.

The assumption of command was authorized under General Order No. NHQ-GO-DES-2026-4813, which was issued by the Philippine National Police Directorate. The transfer marks a new phase in leadership for the regional office, which oversees police operations across Northern Mindanao.

Babagay Jr.'s appointment comes as the PNP continues to implement organizational changes within its regional structure. The formal turnover ceremony at the military installation underscored the official nature of the command transition and allowed for the ceremonial handover of responsibilities to the incoming regional director.
