Sentosa to launch free autonomous shuttle service in early 2027

Sentosa Development Corporation has announced plans to introduce autonomous shuttle services for visitors from early 2027, marking a significant expansion of the island's transportation offerings. The free shuttle service will be accessible through the Tada app, Singapore's ride-hailing platform, allowing users to book rides during operating hours.

The shuttles will be available for booking between 1pm and 7pm daily, providing a convenient transit option for visitors exploring Sentosa's attractions and beaches. The service represents part of broader initiatives across Singapore to integrate autonomous vehicle technology into public transportation networks.

The initiative aligns with Singapore's Smart Island vision and positions Sentosa as a testbed for emerging mobility solutions. The deployment of self-driving shuttles will complement existing transportation infrastructure on the island, which includes monorail, cable car, and bus services.

Further details regarding the specific routes, shuttle capacity, and booking procedures are expected to be announced closer to the launch date. The rollout follows successful autonomous vehicle trials conducted in other parts of Singapore, demonstrating the viability of driverless technology in controlled environments.
