Seoul police probe illegal disposal of cosmetic surgery waste

Seoul Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation after discovering human tissue remnants, including fatty deposits and blood, from cosmetic surgery procedures being dumped into plumbing systems rather than through regulated medical waste channels.

The illicit disposal practices were identified at several cosmetic clinics and aesthetic surgery centers across the city. In numerous cases, human tissue waste was commingled with general medical refuse before final disposal, circumventing proper biohazard containment and treatment protocols.
