Serbian tennis player Stefan Milicevic banned 24 years for match-fixing

Stefan Milicevic, 29, has been issued a 24-year ban from professional tennis following an investigation into widespread match-fixing violations spanning 2022 to 2024. The International Tennis Integrity Unit determined that the Serbian player fixed six matches outright, including five in which he directly participated as a competitor. The case also revealed attempts to manipulate an additional six matches during the same period. The severity of the sanction reflects the gravity of Milicevic's breaches of tennis integrity regulations, which prohibit players from deliberately losing, winning, or influencing the outcome of matches for financial gain or other benefits. Match-fixing remains one of the sport's most serious offences, undermining fair competition and eroding public confidence in professional tennis. The lengthy ban effectively ends Milicevic's career at the professional level and sends a strong deterrent message to other players considering similar conduct. The case is among several match-fixing investigations the tennis integrity authorities have pursued in recent years as the sport intensifies efforts to combat corruption.
