The Seremban City Council has issued clarification regarding the setup for the upcoming 2026 Deepavali Carnival, addressing public concerns about the scale and permanence of installations along Jalan Dato' Lee Fong Yee. According to the mayor's office, the event will feature a hybrid arrangement designed to balance festival preparation with minimal disruption to the locality.

Under the arrangement, temporary tent structures will remain in position throughout the carnival period to facilitate rapid event deployment. However, the primary performance stage will be assembled each morning and dismantled each evening, allowing the venue to return to near-normal conditions during non-event hours.

The clarification comes amid public queries about potential traffic disruptions and the extended presence of carnival infrastructure in the commercial district. Municipal officials stated that the phased approach aims to maintain the vibrancy of the Deepavali celebrations while minimising inconvenience to residents and businesses in the area.

The 2026 Deepavali Carnival is expected to attract significant attendance from the wider Negeri Sembilan region, with event organisers coordinating logistics to ensure smooth operations throughout the festival period.
