Serendib has unveiled 'Future Her', a comprehensive financial literacy programme designed to empower schoolgirls across Sri Lanka with essential money management skills and financial confidence.

The initiative targets secondary school students, providing practical education on budgeting, saving, investing, and financial planning. By introducing these concepts at a formative stage, the programme seeks to establish strong financial foundations that will benefit participants throughout their lives.

Financial literacy remains a significant gap in educational curricula across South Asia, with young women particularly underrepresented in financial decision-making discussions. Future Her addresses this disparity by creating an accessible platform for schoolgirls to develop competence and self-assurance in financial matters.

The programme combines classroom-based learning with interactive workshops and real-world financial scenarios, enabling participants to apply knowledge practically. Through peer engagement and mentorship components, the initiative fosters a supportive community of financially-aware young women.

Serendib's launch of Future Her reflects growing recognition of the importance of early financial education in reducing economic inequality and promoting women's financial independence in Sri Lanka.
