Service remains BJP's guiding principle regardless of political power: Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday underscored that service remains the cornerstone of the BJP's governance philosophy and will continue to guide the party's policies irrespective of its political standing. Speaking via video conference with participants of the Seva Sankalp Yatra, Modi emphasised that the party's commitment to citizens and public welfare forms the foundation of all its decisions.

"From Gujarat to Delhi, service has been the core of our governance and values," Modi said. "When service is at the heart of governance, the resolve of 'Nagarik Devo Bhava' (Citizen is God) is at the heart of every policy." He stressed that the party's conduct should demonstrate that political power will never divert it from its fundamental purpose of serving the people.

The Seva Sankalp Yatra, initiated from Vadnagar in Gujarat, is traversing towards Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh as part of celebrations marking Modi's 76th birthday and 25 years in elected public life. The cross-country initiative brings together youth participants from various states to reinforce the message of service-oriented governance. At the time of Modi's address, the yatra was in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh.
