Seven arrested in alleged cattle slaughter case in Uttar Pradesh

Police in Bijnor have arrested seven people on suspicion of illegally slaughtering a domestic cow in Sadafal village in the Syohara region, according to law enforcement officials. The complainant alleged that one of the accused took his cow into a nearby forest area, where the suspect and six associates proceeded to butcher the animal. Investigators said the group intended to sell the meat in small packaged portions. Officers recovered bovine remains and butchering equipment from the scene. The case comes amid ongoing concerns about illegal cattle slaughter in parts of northern India, where such activities violate state laws protecting cows. The accused face charges under relevant wildlife and animal protection statutes. The investigation is continuing, police said.
