Seven foreign players cleared to return after document fraud bans expire

The seven players, who were banned for attempting to compete for the national team using falsified documentation, have now satisfied the terms of their disciplinary action imposed by the MFL.

The Malaysian Football League stated that the suspension period, which ran for 12 months from the date of their respective sanctions, has concluded. This means the affected players are no longer subject to the playing restrictions that were previously in effect.

The incident had highlighted concerns over document verification procedures within Malaysian football. The use of falsified credentials to secure national team eligibility had prompted the league to conduct a thorough review of player registration protocols.

With the ban period now expired, the seven players may seek to register with clubs and participate in league matches, subject to standard eligibility requirements and any club-level considerations. The MFL's confirmation comes as the domestic football season continues to develop, with multiple competitions running concurrently across the Malaysian football calendar.
