Seven Vietnamese export sectors each exceed $10 billion milestone

Vietnam's export economy continues to demonstrate strength through concentrated performance in several major product categories. During the January-September period, seven export sectors individually surpassed the $10 billion turnover threshold, underscoring the nation's reliance on a relatively narrow range of high-value commodities in international trade.
The combined output of these seven sectors accounted for 70.7 percent of Vietnam's total export value during the nine-month period, highlighting their critical importance to the country's trade balance and economic growth. This concentration reflects both the competitive advantages Vietnam has established in specific industries and the challenges posed by dependency on a limited portfolio of export products.
Vietnam's import-export turnover grew 28.7 percent during the period, demonstrating broader momentum in the nation's trade sector. However, analysts note that Vietnamese businesses must strengthen their export capacity to capitalize on the digital economy and unlock growth potential in agro-forestry and fishery products, which remain underutilized revenue sources for national trade expansion.
As global supply chains continue to evolve, Vietnam's export-oriented industries face both opportunities and pressures to diversify their product offerings and enhance competitiveness in emerging markets and digital commerce channels.
