Anamika Mishra, a seven-year-old resident of Gonda district, accomplished a 30-kilometre running feat on October 2, marking Gandhi Jayanti with a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. The young runner began her marathon from her school in the morning and completed the grueling distance at Gandhi Park.
Mishra covered the full 30-kilometre route in three hours and 40 minutes, demonstrating remarkable endurance for her age. Officials including a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) were present to welcome her at the finish line, recognizing her extraordinary achievement.
The child has set her sights on becoming an Olympic marathon champion, hoping to represent India on the world's biggest sporting stage. Her determination and physical feat at such a young age have drawn attention in her district, with local authorities acknowledging her sporting ambitions.
