SGX Chief Loh Boon Chye to Step Down in 2027
Singapore Exchange CEO Loh Boon Chye has announced his intention to depart the role in 2027, providing what he characterises as adequate time for leadership transition planning.

Loh Boon Chye, who assumed the chief executive position at Singapore Exchange Limited in 2015, has signalled his planned departure from the exchange operator in 2027. The announcement provides the bourse operator with a clear timeline for succession planning and executive continuity.
The outgoing chief executive stated that the transition period would afford "ample time" for a measured handover of responsibilities. The two-year window aligns with typical governance practices for major financial institutions, allowing the board to identify, evaluate and prepare a successor for the demanding role.
During his tenure since 2015, Loh has overseen SGX's operations through a period of significant market evolution, including the rise of derivatives trading and increasing regional capital flows. His leadership has shaped the exchange's competitive positioning within Asia's financial markets landscape.
The SGX board is expected to initiate a formal search process for Loh's successor in due course. The exchange, which operates Singapore's primary securities and derivatives markets, is a critical infrastructure entity within the city-state's financial ecosystem.
