SGX RegCo to assume full listing review control from January 2027
Singapore Exchange's regulator will take over document review responsibilities from the Monetary Authority of Singapore in a move aimed at expediting the listing approval process. The transition is scheduled to take effect on January 4, 2027.

SGX Regulation, the independent regulatory arm of Singapore Exchange, will assume complete responsibility for reviewing listing documents currently handled by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) from the start of next year. The transfer of duties forms part of efforts to streamline Singapore's capital markets and reduce processing times for companies seeking to list on the bourse.
Under the new arrangement commencing January 4, 2027, SGX RegCo will manage the entire listing approval workflow, consolidating functions that have previously been shared between the exchange regulator and MAS. The consolidated approach is expected to eliminate procedural overlap and create a more efficient pathway for prospective issuers.
The move reflects Singapore's commitment to maintaining its competitive position as a regional financial hub. By centralizing listing oversight within SGX RegCo, authorities aim to enhance the speed and predictability of the approval process while maintaining robust regulatory standards.
Singapore's capital markets have faced increasing competition from other regional exchanges in attracting listings. Market participants have consistently cited the need for faster, more streamlined listing procedures to improve the island's attractiveness as a listing destination.
