Shami Opens Up on National Team Comeback Hopes Ahead of Ranji Return

Mohammed Shami is poised to make another statement in Indian domestic cricket, having been included in Bengal's squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy tournament. However, ahead of his return to first-class competition, the veteran fast bowler has addressed his aspirations regarding a comeback to the national side.

Shami, who has been working his way back to peak fitness, is looking to use the Ranji platform to demonstrate his readiness for international selection. His comments come at a time when India's bowling contingent continues to evolve, with several pacers competing for spots in the team.

The pacer's domestic return represents a significant opportunity to showcase his form and durability after a period away from competitive cricket. Shami has historically been a key member of India's pace attack, and his performances in the Ranji Trophy will likely be closely monitored by the national selectors as they prepare their squad for upcoming assignments.

With the domestic season providing a crucial window for players seeking national team recalls, Shami's participation in Bengal's campaign underscores the importance placed by experienced cricketers on proving their fitness and form at the first-class level.
