Shankesh Jewellers surges 18% on stellar Q1 earnings beat

Shankesh Jewellers' stock climbed 18 per cent following the release of its first-quarter financial results, bucking a broader market sell-off as investors rewarded the jeweller's robust operational performance. The company reported profit after tax of ₹43 crore for the three-month period ended June, representing a 100 per cent increase compared to the year-ago quarter.

Revenue growth proved equally impressive, with consolidated turnover reaching ₹424 crore in Q1, marking a 55 per cent year-on-year expansion. The strong top-line growth underscored healthy consumer demand across the jewellery sector and the company's ability to capture market share amid inflationary pressures.

The earnings beat reflected improved operational efficiency and margin expansion as the company leveraged its distribution network and retail presence. Analysts attributed the outperformance to a combination of increased footfall at retail outlets and strong online sales channels.

The results come at a time when gold prices have remained volatile, yet Shankesh Jewellers has managed to sustain profitability gains. The company's ability to deliver strong bottom-line growth while scaling revenues suggests effective cost management and pricing strategies that have shielded margins from commodity price fluctuations.

Market observers noted that the results position Shankesh Jewellers favourably against sector peers, with the stock's outperformance reflecting investor confidence in the company's growth trajectory and financial health.
