Shelton suffered defeat to Alexander Zverev in the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, capping a tournament run that had captured significant attention in the lead-up to the championship match.
Rodman, the professional soccer player and daughter of NBA legend Dennis Rodman, managed an impressive logistical feat to be courtside for the final. She travelled approximately 200 miles from Washington, where she had been competing in a soccer match, to reach the tennis venue in time for the showdown.
Despite her presence as a supporting figure, the gesture was unable to inspire Shelton to victory. The 21-year-old American's run at the tournament concluded with the loss to the German competitor, marking the end of what had been a promising campaign for the rising tennis talent.
Shelton has emerged as one of the brightest prospects in American tennis in recent seasons, and the US Open final represented a significant milestone in his career trajectory. The experience, while ending in defeat, underscores his rapid ascent in professional tennis.
