Shiv Sena UBT faces setback as prominent spokesperson resigns

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) has suffered a notable setback following the resignation of Anand Dubey, one of its prominent spokespersons and key Hindi-language representatives. Dubey, who held considerable visibility in the party's communications apparatus, submitted his resignation citing dissatisfaction with the party's functioning and internal processes.

The timing of Dubey's departure comes as the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, which comprises Shiv Sena UBT, Congress, and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), continues to navigate internal challenges ahead of elections. Alliance leaders have publicly emphasised unity and cohesion, making the resignation a notable contradiction to those statements.

Sources indicate that Dubey's discontent stemmed from operational and strategic disagreements within the Thackeray-led faction. His exit marks the loss of a recognizable face, particularly among Hindi-speaking constituencies where the party has sought to strengthen its presence.

The resignation underscores mounting pressures within the UBT, with questions now emerging about potential further departures and the coalition's ability to maintain organisational stability in the competitive Maharashtra political landscape.
