Shivamogga HOPCOMS set to launch fruit and juice retail outlet

Shivamogga HOPCOMS, the district's prominent agricultural marketing cooperative, is preparing to open a dedicated fruit and juice centre to enhance its retail operations and expand market reach. The new facility will serve as a direct-to-consumer outlet, offering fresh seasonal fruits sourced from member farmers alongside freshly prepared juice products.

The establishment of this centre reflects HOPCOMS' strategy to strengthen its presence in consumer markets and reduce intermediaries between farmers and buyers. By operating a dedicated retail space, the cooperative aims to ensure better price realisation for its members while providing affordable, quality produce to urban consumers.

The juice centre component of the facility will feature products made from locally sourced fruits, tapping into growing consumer demand for natural and fresh beverages. This diversification into value-added products represents an effort to increase revenue streams while addressing seasonal fluctuations in fresh fruit sales.
