A Singapore Airlines cabin crew member experienced a severe medical emergency mid-flight that was resolved through the swift intervention of a passenger with medical training.

The steward fell critically ill during the flight with vital signs deteriorating to a dangerously low pulse rate. The situation prompted urgent calls for medical assistance from passengers on board, leading a former healthcare worker to step forward and provide emergency care.

The off-duty medical professional administered aid to the crew member, whose condition had become life-threatening. Through prompt intervention, the passenger was able to stabilise the steward before the aircraft reached its destination in Singapore.

Singapore Airlines has protocols in place to identify medical professionals among passengers and crew during emergency situations. The airline confirmed the incident and acknowledged the role of the assisting passenger in the successful outcome.

The steward was transferred to medical care upon landing in Singapore for further assessment and treatment.
