SIA customer data exposed in Amadeus travel platform breach

Singapore Airlines has disclosed a data breach affecting around 46,000 customer booking records held by Amadeus, a global travel technology platform used by the airline. The exposure included passengers' names, booking references, and itinerary details, the carrier confirmed. SIA emphasized that its own IT infrastructure and systems were not compromised in the incident, limiting the scope of the breach to information maintained on the external platform. The airline said it is working with Amadeus to investigate the extent of the unauthorised access and strengthen security measures. Customers affected by the breach have been advised to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and to exercise caution with unsolicited communications requesting personal or financial information. SIA has not disclosed whether affected passengers will receive compensation or additional support services in response to the incident.
