SIC to submit Formula 1 return study to Cabinet next month

Sepang International Circuit (SIC) CEO Azhan Shafriman Hanif announced that the circuit is actively collecting information and data through engagement sessions as part of efforts to assess the feasibility of F1's return to the country.

The study, which is being prepared for submission to Malaysia's Cabinet, aims to provide policymakers with a thorough analysis of the requirements and considerations needed to reinstate the sport's premier racing series in Malaysia. The engagement sessions form a key part of SIC's data-gathering process to ensure the study is comprehensive and evidence-based.

Malaysia last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2017 at the Sepang International Circuit. The study's November presentation to Cabinet will mark a significant milestone in efforts to explore the country's potential return to the F1 calendar.

The circuit's initiative reflects broader interest in reviving Malaysia's presence in international motorsport, with the Cabinet submission expected to outline the economic, infrastructural, and logistical aspects of hosting the event once again.
