Signal system failure disrupts KTM Komuter, ETS services by hours
A signal system malfunction caused significant delays to Malaysia's KTM Komuter and ETS rail services. Operations have since returned to normal, according to KTMB.

Commuters faced substantial disruptions on Monday when a signal system failure affected both KTM Komuter and Express Train Service (ETS) operations across the network. The ETS service experienced delays of up to five hours as a result of the technical issue, impacting passengers across multiple routes.
Kereta api Tanah Air Berhad (KTMB), the operator of Malaysia's rail services, confirmed the disruption and attributed it to a malfunction in the signalling system. The company did not specify which sections of the rail network were most severely affected by the outage.
The railway operator worked to resolve the technical issue promptly. By later in the day, KTMB announced that both KTM Komuter and ETS services had resumed normal operations, allowing commuters to travel without further delays.
The incident highlighted the importance of critical infrastructure maintenance for the country's rail transport network, which serves thousands of daily commuters across the Klang Valley and other regions.
