MADRID — Atletico Madrid will look to extend their impressive nine-game unbeaten streak when they host Bayern Munich in a pivotal Champions League fixture on Tuesday, with manager Diego Simeone taking time to commend Harry Kane's individual accolade.
Simeone offered his endorsement of Kane's Ballon d'Or win, recognising the forward's exceptional form and contribution to his side's success this season. The recognition underscores the high regard in which the Atletico boss holds Kane's performances in European football.
The Madrid club arrives at the fixture in confident form, having demonstrated considerable resilience and tactical discipline over their recent run without defeat. The nine-game unbeaten sequence has positioned Atletico as serious contenders in the continental competition, though facing Bayern Munich presents one of the sternest challenges available in club football.
The clash between two of Europe's traditional powerhouses will serve as a crucial test of Atletico's mettle in this season's Champions League campaign. Bayern's pedigree and proven track record at the highest level means Tuesday's encounter will demand Atletico's full concentration and execution of Simeone's demanding tactical setup.
