Two-time Olympic bronze medallist PV Sindhu's campaign at the Arctic Open came to an end on Thursday following a closely contested match against top seed Ratchanok Intanon, the world No. 5 shuttler from Indonesia.

Despite a spirited performance, Sindhu could not find a way past Intanon across the three-game encounter, faltering in the quarterfinal stage of the tournament.

The loss marks another setback for the Indian shuttler, who has been competing on the international circuit as she continues her rehabilitation following a previous ankle injury. Intanon's seeding and world ranking underscored the calibre of opposition Sindhu faced in the Nordic tournament.

Sindhu remains one of India's most accomplished badminton players, with her Olympic credentials and consistent performance at prestigious tournaments keeping her among the sport's elite athletes. Her exit from the Arctic Open now shifts focus to her upcoming engagements on the BWF World Tour calendar.
