Sindhuja raises ₹100 crore via NCDs; Carlsberg clears IPO hurdle

Sindhuja Microcredit has successfully raised ₹100 crore through the issuance of non-convertible debentures, reflecting continued investor appetite for debt instruments from the microfinance sector. The capital infusion strengthens the company's balance sheet as it expands operations across its lending portfolio.

In a parallel development, Carlsberg India has received the Securities and Exchange Board of India's observations on its draft red herring prospectus, effectively giving the brewer the green light to move forward with its IPO plans. The public offering, valued at ₹6,600 crore, will involve a partial dilution of the parent company's stake in the Indian subsidiary.

Carlsberg's IPO comes as the beverage sector sees renewed investor interest, with the company positioning itself to tap public markets for growth capital. The listing is expected to enhance the company's profile in India's competitive alcoholic beverages market and provide liquidity to existing shareholders.

Both developments underscore the ongoing strength of capital market access for mid-sized Indian financial services and consumer-facing companies seeking to fund expansion and operational objectives.
