Singapore air quality deteriorates as haze spreads across all regions
Elevated PM2.5 readings have been recorded across Singapore's five regions, with 24-hour PSI measurements entering the unhealthy range island-wide as of early morning Tuesday.

Air quality has deteriorated significantly across Singapore, with one-hour PM2.5 readings climbing to elevated levels in all regions. The National Environment Agency recorded 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings in the unhealthy range across all five monitoring zones as of 6am.
The widespread haze indicates a substantial increase in air pollution from earlier forecasts. Residents across the island—from the central, east, west, north and south regions—are experiencing similar air quality challenges simultaneously.
The unhealthy PSI readings suggest Singapore is experiencing transboundary haze, likely stemming from regional sources. Such episodes typically occur during dry seasons when atmospheric conditions favour the transport of pollutants across borders.
Authorities have not yet issued health advisories, though the unhealthy classification indicates that vulnerable groups including children, the elderly, and those with respiratory conditions should limit outdoor activities. Updates on air quality are expected throughout the day as conditions evolve.
