Air pollution levels across Singapore have worsened, with the Pollutant Standards Index breaching the unhealthy range in central, eastern and western regions on Monday morning. The central region recorded the highest PSI reading of 128.

Singapore's air quality deteriorated further Monday, with the 24-hour PSI climbing into unhealthy territory across multiple regions. As of 7am, the central region registered a PSI of 128, while the eastern region recorded 115 and the western region 106, according to data from the National Environment Agency.
The unhealthy PSI range typically begins at 101 and above, indicating conditions that may affect members of the general public. The readings suggest air pollution levels are posing potential health concerns for residents in affected areas.
The degradation in air quality comes amid haze conditions affecting the island-state. Authorities typically attribute such episodes to transboundary haze from regional sources, particularly during periods of unfavourable wind patterns and atmospheric conditions.
Members of the public, particularly those with respiratory conditions, cardiovascular ailments or the elderly, are generally advised to limit outdoor activities and remain indoors when air quality deteriorates to unhealthy levels. The NEA continues to monitor air quality conditions across the island.
