The 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings ranged from 104 to 140 as of 7am, placing air quality in the unhealthy category nationwide. Hourly PM2.5 readings, which measure fine particulate matter, ranged between 44 and 62 micrograms per cubic metre across two regions that recorded elevated concentrations.
The unhealthy air quality prompted health advisories urging residents to limit outdoor activities and vulnerable groups to remain indoors. Children, elderly persons, and those with respiratory or heart conditions were advised to take particular precautions.
The National Environment Agency continued monitoring air quality levels throughout the day, with forecasts indicating potential variations across different parts of the island. Residents were urged to check real-time PSI updates and take necessary health measures to protect themselves from the haze.
