Singapore's air quality has stabilised in the good-to-moderate range, marking an improvement from previous haze episodes that have periodically affected the city-state. The latest readings indicate that transboundary haze—a recurring challenge for the region—has diminished significantly in recent days.
The Meteorological Service Singapore attributed the improvement to shifting weather conditions associated with the inter-monsoon period. These seasonal transitions typically bring changes in wind patterns and atmospheric circulation that help disperse air pollutants across the region.
Residents are advised to continue monitoring the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI), which provides real-time updates on air quality across various monitoring stations throughout Singapore. While conditions have improved, individuals with respiratory sensitivities should remain cautious during outdoor activities.
The agency indicated that the improved air quality is expected to persist as inter-monsoon conditions strengthen. However, regional haze episodes remain a seasonal concern, and authorities continue to coordinate with neighbouring countries on air quality management and transboundary pollution mitigation efforts.
