Singapore air quality remains unhealthy as haze persists across island

Air quality deteriorated across Singapore as haze conditions persisted, with the National Environment Agency recording unhealthy PSI levels throughout the day. The 24-hour PSI readings remained in the unhealthy band for all five regions, indicating widespread air pollution affecting residents island-wide.

At 6am, one-hour PM2.5 readings climbed into the elevated band in four of Singapore's five monitoring regions, signalling worsening conditions as morning hours progressed. The persistent haze has continued to impact visibility and air quality in the densely populated city-state.

Authorities have advised residents, particularly those with respiratory conditions, the elderly, and young children, to limit outdoor activities and consider wearing N95 masks when venturing outside. The situation reflects ongoing regional transboundary pollution challenges that periodically affect air quality in Singapore and neighbouring areas.

Real-time air quality updates remain available through official channels as weather patterns continue to influence pollution dispersion across the region.
