Singapore air quality remains unhealthy despite stable PM2.5 levels

Early morning measurements at 8am recorded 24-hour PSI readings spanning from 103 to 138, indicating unhealthy air quality conditions persisted across the island. The readings placed air quality in the unhealthy category, prompting continued advisory for residents, particularly those in vulnerable groups.

Hourly PM2.5 readings, a key indicator of fine particulate pollution, ranged from 43 to 55 microgrammes per cubic metre across monitored regions. These levels remained within normal parameters, suggesting that while overall air quality remained compromised, fine particulate concentrations had stabilised.

The disparity between PSI and PM2.5 readings indicates that pollutants other than fine particles were contributing to the unhealthy air quality classification. The National Environment Agency continues to monitor air quality levels throughout the day as weather conditions evolve.
