Singapore air quality remains unhealthy despite stable PM2.5 levels
Singapore's air quality stayed in the unhealthy range across most regions on Monday morning, with Pollutant Standards Index readings between 100 and 132. Fine particulate matter levels, however, remained within acceptable parameters.

At 10am, the 24-hour PSI readings indicated unhealthy air conditions spanning most of the country, ranging from 100 to 132. This placed air quality in the "unhealthy" category for general populations, though hourly PM2.5 readings presented a more favourable picture, measuring between 31 and 48 micrograms per cubic metre across all monitoring stations.
The discrepancy between PSI and PM2.5 levels suggests that other pollutants may be contributing to the overall air quality index. PSI measurements take into account multiple air pollutants including nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, ozone, and carbon monoxide alongside particulate matter.
The National Environment Agency continues to monitor air quality across Singapore's monitoring network. Residents in affected areas have been advised to reduce outdoor activities and use appropriate respiratory protection if venturing outdoors for extended periods.
