Singapore air quality remains unhealthy in three regions amid haze
Singapore's air quality deteriorated across three regions on Monday afternoon, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index reaching unhealthy levels. However, fine particulate matter readings remained within acceptable limits nationwide.

Air quality monitoring at 1pm revealed 24-hour PSI readings ranging from 97 to 124 across the city-state, with three regions experiencing unhealthy air conditions. The readings, which classify air quality on a scale where levels above 100 are considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, prompted ongoing monitoring by environmental authorities.
Despite elevated PSI levels in some areas, hourly PM2.5 particle readings remained moderate, ranging from 30 to 52 micrograms per cubic metre across the country. PM2.5 fine particulates are among the most harmful air pollutants and are closely tracked as an independent air quality indicator.
The haze episode underscores Singapore's vulnerability to transboundary air pollution, particularly during seasonal periods when atmospheric conditions trap smoke and dust particles over the region. Authorities continued to monitor air quality throughout the day and advised residents in affected areas to limit outdoor activities, particularly those with respiratory conditions or other health vulnerabilities.
The National Environment Agency has recommended that members of the public check real-time air quality data through official channels for the most current conditions in their vicinity.
