Singapore Airlines confirmed on Tuesday that customer data tied to nearly 46,000 bookings was affected by a security incident involving Amadeus, the major airline reservation system used globally. The breach exposed personal information linked to passenger reservations processed through the platform.

The Singapore carrier joins a growing list of major Asian airlines reporting similar compromises. Cathay Pacific Airways, Japan Airlines, and South Korea's Asiana Airlines have all previously disclosed that customer data was accessed through the same Amadeus vulnerability, underscoring the widespread impact of the incident across the region's aviation sector.

Singapore Airlines stated it has launched an investigation into the scope of the breach and initiated measures to notify affected customers. The airline advised passengers to monitor their accounts for any suspicious activity and recommended standard security precautions regarding personal information.

Amadeus, which provides booking, ticketing, and customer management systems to thousands of airlines and travel agencies worldwide, has become a critical focal point for cybersecurity concerns following the incident. The breach has raised questions about data protection standards across major travel technology platforms serving Asia-Pacific carriers.
