Singapore arrests 39 suspects in drug trafficking probe targeting Telegram
Authorities in Singapore have arrested 39 individuals suspected of drug trafficking activities coordinated through Telegram messaging channels, with roughly half of those detained aged under 30 years old.

The Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Police Force conducted the operation targeting an organised drug distribution network that leveraged encrypted messaging platforms to conduct illicit transactions. The 39 suspects were apprehended following investigations into drug-related activities coordinated via Telegram channels.
Among those arrested, approximately 20 individuals were aged below 30 years old, indicating a significant proportion of younger participants in the alleged criminal enterprise. The remainder of the detainees were older adults also implicated in the distribution network.
Investigators seized various items during the operation, though specific details regarding quantities and types of controlled substances recovered remain under review. The use of encrypted messaging applications to facilitate drug trafficking has become an increasing concern for law enforcement agencies across the region.
