Perfect Sky, a Singapore-based charity focused on healthcare accessibility, has launched a comprehensive vision restoration programme targeting underprivileged communities. The initiative aims to provide eye examinations, corrective lenses, and surgical interventions to individuals who would otherwise lack access to such services.
The programme addresses a significant healthcare gap in the region, where many low-income families struggle to afford basic eye care. Poor vision can hinder educational opportunities and employment prospects, perpetuating cycles of poverty. By removing financial barriers to eye care, Perfect Sky hopes to improve quality of life and economic mobility for vulnerable populations.
The charity plans to conduct outreach clinics across Singapore and partner with healthcare providers in neighbouring Southeast Asian countries. Mobile vision screening units will bring diagnostic services directly to underserved communities, with referrals for further treatment provided at reduced or no cost.
Perfect Sky has partnered with local optometrists and ophthalmologists who contribute their expertise on a voluntary basis. The organisation is also seeking corporate sponsorships and individual donations to fund the programme's expansion and cover treatment costs for beneficiaries.
