Singapore expands neighbour dispute resolution unit nationwide from September
Singapore will roll out its specialist neighbour disputes unit across the country starting September 1, extending services to handle severe noise complaints and hoarding issues in both public and private housing.
LSN Singapore ·

Singapore's Ministry of National Development announced plans to expand its neighbour disputes resolution unit nationwide, bringing specialized services to residents in both public and private housing estates from September 1.
The expansion marks a significant step in the government's efforts to address escalating tensions between neighbours over issues such as severe noise disturbances and hoarding. The unit, which has operated in selected areas, will now be deployed systematically across the island to ensure consistent access to dispute resolution services.
The programme aims to provide early intervention and mediation services before conflicts escalate to require formal legal action. Trained mediators will work with residents to identify root causes of disputes and facilitate amicable solutions, reducing strain on community relations and freeing up law enforcement resources.
By extending the unit's operations to cover both Housing and Development Board estates and private residential developments, the government seeks to create a more cohesive living environment across Singapore's diverse housing landscape. Residents experiencing neighbour disputes will be able to access support through established channels in their respective constituencies.
Official details regarding registration procedures and contact information for the expanded service are expected to be released ahead of the September 1 implementation date.
