The National Council on Problem Gambling and the regulator issued separate fines to the three operators following investigations into their adherence to gaming regulations. Singapore Pools and Marina Bay Sands each received penalties of $100,000, while Resorts World Sentosa was fined $75,000.
The action reflects ongoing regulatory scrutiny of Singapore's licensed gambling operators to ensure compliance with strict operational standards and consumer protection measures. Regulators have prioritised enforcement of rules designed to safeguard players and maintain the integrity of gaming operations across the city-state.
The three entities represent a significant portion of Singapore's regulated gambling sector, which includes sports betting through Singapore Pools and casino operations at the two major integrated resorts. The fines underscore regulatory authorities' commitment to holding operators accountable for breaches of licensing conditions and operational guidelines.
Regulatory bodies in Singapore have consistently emphasised that all licensed gaming operators must maintain the highest standards of compliance. The penalties serve as a reminder to the industry of the importance of adhering to established frameworks governing advertising, customer protection, and responsible gaming initiatives.
