The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) said it is in close contact with Thai authorities and working with local importers to monitor the situation following Thailand's move to restrict egg exports. The agency emphasised that Singapore's egg supply chain is well-diversified, with Thai imports representing a minority share of total consumption. "Less than 15 percent of eggs consumed in Singapore come from Thailand," an SFA spokesperson said, indicating that the city-state is not heavily reliant on any single source for this essential food item. The proactive engagement with importers and overseas authorities reflects Singapore's strategy of maintaining supply stability across critical food categories. The agency's diversified sourcing approach has previously buffered the market against regional supply disruptions. Officials have not reported any immediate supply concerns, though they continue to monitor developments closely. Singapore, which imports the majority of its food requirements, has long prioritised supply chain resilience and multi-source procurement to ensure food security for its population.
