Singapore partners with Google DeepMind on AI scam detection technology
Singapore's Government Technology Agency is collaborating with Google DeepMind to develop real-time detection systems for artificial intelligence-driven scams operating on personal devices. The Government Technology Agency (GovTech) has announced a strategic partnership with Google DeepMind focused on creating advanced detection capabilities for AI-powered scams that target users on their personal devices. The collaboration aims to develop solutions that can identify and counteract deceptive schemes in real time, protecting Singapore's digital ecosystem from increasingly sophisticated threats.
As artificial intelligence technologies proliferate, scammers have begun exploiting these tools to launch more convincing fraudulent schemes. The GovTech-Google DeepMind initiative seeks to stay ahead of such threats by leveraging machine learning and advanced detection algorithms to identify malicious AI activity as it occurs on end-user devices.
Complementing this effort, the partnership will also establish new grant funding programmes designed to support local organisations in bolstering their cybersecurity posture.
