Singapore Red Cross raises over $3m for Nepal-China flood relief

The Singapore Red Cross launched its appeal on August 28 to assist communities affected by devastating floods in Nepal and China. The campaign has already surpassed the $3 million mark, demonstrating strong public support for humanitarian relief in the region.

The fundraising initiative will remain open until November 30, allowing donors additional time to contribute to the relief efforts. The funds collected will be channelled through the Singapore Red Cross's established networks to provide emergency assistance, shelter, medical care, and rehabilitation support to affected populations.

Floods have caused significant damage across both nations, displacing thousands of residents and destroying homes and livelihoods. The relief operation addresses urgent humanitarian needs in the aftermath of the natural disaster, with particular focus on the most vulnerable communities impacted by the flooding.

The Singapore Red Cross continues to accept donations through multiple channels, including online platforms and donation centres across the island. Officials have appealed for continued public generosity to sustain relief operations as recovery efforts extend into the coming months.
