Singapore to base eight F-35 fighter jets at Tengah Air Base

Singapore will distribute its fleet of 20 F-35A fighter jets between Tengah Air Base and facilities in the United States, according to reports of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's deployment strategy. Eight aircraft are designated for basing at the newly operational Tengah facility, while the remaining 12 jets will continue operations from American bases.

The F-35A aircraft represent a significant modernisation of Singapore's air defence capabilities. The first delivery of the advanced fighter jets is scheduled for 2029, marking a major milestone in the air force's equipment upgrade programme.

Tengah Air Base, Singapore's newest air facility, is designed to accommodate modern fighter operations and represents a key infrastructure investment for the nation's defence. The partial stationing of the F-35 fleet at Tengah will enhance operational readiness while maintaining interoperability with allied air forces through the aircraft based in the United States.
