Singapore's public housing authority is preparing for a significant expansion of the Toa Payoh West residential district, positioning the area as a new growth corridor for young families and upgrading homeowners. The comprehensive development plan centres on the Caldecott MRT station, with amenities and facilities strategically clustered around the transport hub to enhance residents' accessibility and convenience.
The flagship Build-To-Order project, Toa Payoh Hillside, will mark the first BTO offering in the precinct and is slated to introduce some 1,600 flats when it opens for application during the November 2026 sales exercise. The project represents the initial phase of the broader 6,000-unit development vision for the western portion of the Toa Payoh constituency.
The strategic placement of infrastructure and community facilities around Caldecott MRT station is intended to create an integrated living environment with seamless connectivity to other parts of the island. The phased approach to releasing new units is expected to meet the sustained demand for affordable public housing in established residential areas close to major transport networks.
Details regarding the subsequent phases of the development, including timelines for additional BTO launches and the full range of planned amenities, have not yet been disclosed. The housing authority is expected to provide further information as plans progress.
