Singapore to resume ERP charges at 11 Orchard Road locations

Singapore's Land Transport Authority will resume Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) at 11 locations within the Orchard Road corridor starting September 7, marking a return to congestion management measures in the popular shopping and business district.
The charge of S$1 will apply to vehicles using these locations on weekdays between 11am and 7pm. The move is designed to manage traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area, which experiences heavy vehicular traffic throughout the week.
The 11 ERP gantries cover key stretches within and around Orchard Road, one of Singapore's busiest commercial zones. The timing of the charges aligns with peak shopping and business hours, when traffic volumes typically surge in the area.
Motorists can monitor their ERP account balances and top up through existing channels. The Land Transport Authority has indicated that the reintroduction of ERP charges follows careful analysis of traffic patterns and congestion levels in the district.
